Does anyone know of a place you can pay to use power tools? I've seen a few listings on craigslist that are monthly rentals, and I don't need that much tool access (or to spend $350) - more like 3 hours with a bandsaw every so often. I promise not to cut eoff any appendages.

Well, not yet, but it is the hope of the Please Take Materials Exchange at the Phactory to eventually have shared workshop space and tools. We've also been inspired by tool lending libraries elsewhere, but are not yet sure that is feasible. That being said, a lot of work needs to be done before this will be possible. People are of course invited to get involved in order to help make it happen sooner rather than later! As far as tool rentals/availability I would look at traditional routes.. the yellow pages, home depot, etc. depending upon what you need.

You might also look to the http://www.woodturningcenter.org/ for resources.
